McLaren Automotive will celebrate the enduring appeal of its six McLaren LT models with an anniversary programme of customer engagement and retailer activities throughout 2025. The first of these models, the 675LT, was revealed in March 2015 at the Geneva International Motor Show.
The McLaren LT series began with the 675LT, a limited-edition coupe based on the McLaren 650S supercar, inspired by the McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail,’ which was designed to enhance the racing capabilities of the F1 GTR and won its class at the 1997 Le Mans 24 Hours. The 675LT quickly set the tone for the McLaren LT philosophy: a focus on driver engagement, track-oriented dynamics, reduced weight, optimized aerodynamics, and increased power, all within a limited production run.
Following the 675LT, McLaren introduced five more LT models, including the 600LT and 765LT, available in both coupe and convertible Spider forms. The latest model, the 765LT Spider, was launched in 2021. All of these models are renowned for their outstanding performance and embody the pinnacle of supercar excellence, reflecting McLaren’s racing heritage and the increased desirability that comes with their limited production.
The ‘Celebrate LT’ initiative is designed to engage the passionate community of McLaren customers who embody the brand’s supercar ethos. Exclusive LT content, created using vehicles from McLaren’s Heritage Fleet, will be initially available only to LT owners. Throughout 2025, McLaren retailers worldwide will host various activities, including open days, meet-ups, and exclusive driving events, celebrating the decade-long legacy of the LT models and the iconic cars that bear the LT badge.
Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer of McLaren Automotive, said, “For a decade, LT has represented the pure, uncompromising performance that defines McLaren. Focused on delivering true driver engagement, every LT pushes the boundaries of weight reduction, aerodynamics, and power to create an experience that’s both thrilling and visceral. Loved by our most devoted drivers, LT is more than just a name – it’s a statement of intent for those who demand the ultimate in performance.”
