The Nissan Formula E Team is excited to debut its refreshed livery for the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, marking the first season under the new GEN3 Evo regulations.
For the upcoming season, the team will continue with its beloved cherry blossom livery, which has been a fan favorite since its introduction in Season 9. The design not only reflects Nissan’s Japanese heritage but also symbolizes new beginnings, now becoming an integral part of the brand’s identity in Formula E.
The team is looking to build on its successful performance in Season 10, where it finished fourth in both the Teams’ and Drivers’ Championships, and third in the inaugural Manufacturers’ Championship. With this strong foundation, Nissan Formula E Team has made strategic updates to its driver lineup, bringing back the experienced Norman Nato after a season away. He joins Oliver Rowland, who had an impressive Season 10 with two wins and five podium finishes. With both drivers being proven Formula E race winners, the team is poised to continue its development and make a push toward the front of the grid. Nato will drive with #17 on his Nissan e-4ORCE 05, while Rowland will sport the traditional #23.
In addition to the driver changes, Nissan’s new dedicated Formula E factory is now fully operational. Spanning over 2,600 square meters, the state-of-the-art facility features a workshop, simulator, engineering offices, and multipurpose areas. Located south of Paris, the headquarters benefits from proximity to other Nissan sites and its Alliance partners, fostering synergy and easy access to resources and talent.
Nato and Rowland will first hit the track together during pre-season testing from November 4–7 in Valencia, with the 2024/25 season officially kicking off on December 7 at the São Paulo E-Prix.
Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal of Nissan Formula E Team, shared, “We’re thrilled to kick off a new season and continue working with the GEN3 Evo car. The new workshop is making a huge difference, allowing us to maximize our team’s potential. With Norman and Oli, we have a strong driver line-up ready to fight for wins and podiums. We’re also proud to have great partners supporting us, with Electromin increasing its involvement and becoming our main partner, alongside Coral and Coral Eyewear, who have been fantastic collaborators.”
Oliver Rowland commented, “It’s been good to recharge after a busy year, but I’ve stayed focused on preparing for Season 11, making sure I’m in great shape. The new workshop is impressive, and it’s a great location for the team to continue improving and pushing for the front. We still have some work to do with the GEN3 Evo, especially around the all-wheel drive tech, but we’re confident we’ll be ready to race from the very first round.”
Norman Nato added, “I’m excited to be back with the team. I feel comfortable with the car and the crew right from the start. The new workshop is a big improvement, giving us top-tier equipment for race prep and debriefs. The updated livery looks fantastic, keeping our Japanese identity while remaining recognizable to fans. I can’t wait to get started with the GEN3 Evo in Valencia and then head to Brazil for the season opener.”
