The UAE’s seven-seater SUV market just gained a strong new contender. Al-Futtaim Trading Enterprises has officially introduced the Jeep Commander to the local lineup, marking the brand’s first serious entry into the competitive D-SUV segment.

Positioned as a refined yet capable family SUV, the Commander blends premium comfort, advanced technology, and authentic Jeep 4×4 hardware — all starting from AED 149,900.

A Strategic Move for Jeep in the UAE

With demand in the UAE shifting toward larger, tech-focused family SUVs, the Commander arrives at the right time. It expands Jeep’s portfolio beyond traditional off-road-focused models, targeting families who want everyday comfort without sacrificing weekend adventure potential.

As Marco Melani, Managing Director at Al-Futtaim Trading Enterprises, highlighted during the launch, the model represents an important milestone for the brand locally — particularly as it enters 2026 with a strong focus on family-oriented mobility solutions.

Space Designed Around Families

The Commander is built around flexibility and usability:

  • Three-row seating for seven passengers

  • Eight seating configurations

  • Sliding second row (up to 14 cm adjustment)

  • Reclining second and third rows

  • Doors that open up to 80 degrees

  • 31 litres of additional interior storage

Notably, the second row is wide enough to accommodate three child seats — a major advantage for growing families — while still allowing usable space in the third row.

Interior Technology & Comfort

Inside, the Commander feels modern and well-equipped. Standard features across both trims include:

  • 10.25-inch digital driver display

  • 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto

  • Wireless charging

  • Multiple USB ports across all rows

  • Dual-zone climate control with rear vents

Both trims get an electric tailgate, while the Overland adds hands-free access, memory seats, and a panoramic sunroof for a more premium experience.

For audio enthusiasts, the Overland features a 9-speaker Harman Kardon system with a 450-watt subwoofer. Jeep also integrates its Fresh Air Technology system, which cleverly uses cabin air ducts as acoustic chambers to improve sound depth while reducing system weight.

Real Jeep Capability

Unlike many urban-focused seven-seaters, the Commander retains authentic off-road hardware.

It comes equipped with:

  • 4×4 Low mode

  • 4×4 Lock

  • Selec-Terrain drive modes

  • Hill Descent Control

  • Dedicated Off-Road Pages displaying live traction and angle data

The platform incorporates 79% high and ultra-high-strength steel, improving structural rigidity, safety, and overall refinement. Road noise and vibration are impressively controlled, giving it a composed highway feel without compromising capability.

Performance Specifications

Under the hood, the Commander is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing:

  • 272 horsepower

  • 400 Nm of torque

The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and Jeep’s 4×4 system, offering strong highway performance and genuine all-terrain readiness.

Two Well-Equipped Trims

The Commander is available in:

Limited+

  • 19-inch alloy wheels

  • Full LED lighting

  • Black leather and suede interior

  • Power driver’s seat

  • Electric tailgate

  • Complete ADAS safety suite

  • Seven airbags

Overland

  • Premium brown leather interior

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Hands-free power tailgate

  • Memory seats

  • Power passenger seat

  • Harman Kardon 9-speaker audio system

Both versions are generously equipped, with the Overland delivering a more premium finish for buyers seeking additional luxury touches.

Safety & Driver Assistance

Safety is comprehensive and standard across the range. Features include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control

  • Active Park Assist

  • Forward Collision Warning with automatic braking

  • Blind Spot Monitoring

  • Cross-Traffic Alert

  • Lane Change Alert

  • Pedestrian and cyclist emergency braking

  • Driver fatigue detection

  • Speed limit recognition

  • Seven airbags, including a driver knee airbag

Pricing & Ownership Package

The Jeep Commander is now available across UAE showrooms under Al-Futtaim Trading Enterprises, starting at AED 149,900 as part of a Ramadan launch campaign.

The ownership package includes:

  • 5-year / 100,000 km warranty

  • 3-year / 60,000 km service package

  • 5-year / 100,000 km roadside assistance

The Commander strengthens Jeep’s position in the UAE by offering something many buyers are looking for: a proper 7-seater SUV that combines family practicality, premium features, and real off-road credibility.

At its launch price, it enters the D-SUV segment competitively, especially considering the standard 4×4 system and advanced safety suite.

For families who want comfort during the week and capability on the weekend, the Commander makes a compelling first impression in 2026.
